Cool, what phone did you use for the testing? Been thinking about trying it out with my N82, definitely interesting to see how it compares with K-NFB reader for instance.

yeah, tried it myself, trouble is, if you ain't got cell coverage with textscout, you're busted as far as text recog is concerned. with knfb you can recognise text even without cell coverage. also knfb is slightly cheaper too. or that's what i've heard.

There is no pricing for text scout yet as its still in beta last time i looked so we don't know if it will be cheaper than KNFB reader. I am assuming it will be a less expensive alternative, or, either way its already seems to work on more phones. though I am sure the quality of the results will depend on the camera in th the phone.

I'm heard of it, but yes you've got to have network coverage to be able to use it because apparently the text gets sent off to Germany before being sent back to your phone in order to be spoken and stuff. Don't know how true that is though. I'm waiting for the knb reader and n82 to be ordered.

i heard, from the people themselves who make it, that it's about £715 and harmony is correct re the server. i've used textscout, and like it, but knfb is better at the moment due to the use anywhere capability.
